Dog food nutrition experts please? Need opinions on new food?

Have you heard of *’taste of the wild’* brand pet foods?
I went to purchase Petfood today and almost bought this new brand instead, because its *grain free* which is the ONLY complaint that I have about Canidae and Felidae. I wish they would come out with a grain free food.
ANYWAY, would love to hear some thoughts on this new food from you all.
I went ahead and bought some of the cat food since I was out but decided to wait on the dog food since Ive still got enough for a few more days.
One of my cats bit a hole through the bag trying to get in it before I could open it!
The ONLY thing that worries me is that I think its made by Diamond, their newest brand. Heres the link:

Heres the link to their ingredients just click on the product….sounds better than Canidae and Felidae to me! BUT, I want to know what YOU think.

I know someone that just started feeding it actually and they’re pleased. Diamond also makes Chicken Soup, Not all of their food is bad or tainted.

I am not familiar w/ the food you mentioned. But I will say that I feed my dogs and cats California Natural. I like Natura brand pet foods the best. They are grain free and don’t have anything in them that your pet doesn’t need. Check out their website. They have a food comparrison tool that lists all of the ingredients in each pet food AND it tells you what each ingredient actually is…which may surprise you. Good luck to you!

I would worry about the 32 % protein content in the dog food. With some dogs that high of protein will upset their stomach.

I just switched from Nature’s Recipe to Canidae Life Stages for both of my dogs and they are doing great and I like that it is made here in the U.S and none of the Crap from China is getting into my dogs

It sounds like a very good food, and one that I will likely try.I feed Diamond anyway, and have never had a problem with it.Diamond is a good dog food,it was just that one time that they had a problem with mold, which has happened with many other foods.Even human foods can become contaminated ~ look at the current recall of ground beef, the largest in history,I will definitely try this food, though.

I know Timberwolf organics has a grain free food, and have heard wonderful things about that brand. I am going to add it into my dog’s rotation. If you have any questions about the food, e-mail them (get the address from their website). They will get back to you within 24 hours and have always been helpful in answering any of my questions.

Never heard of the food before, it looks okay. I feed Wellness Core which is 100% Grain Free, no preservatives, it has 5 USDA grade meats, and it is high in omegas. My dog has done better that great on it and Wellness dog food just got the 2007 top dog food award.
December 17th, 2009 at 8:38 amMy dogs do not like the meat sources that the food you listed have so I would not try it and if it is made by Diamond I would not use it either. But it does look pretty good.
